IN MEMORY OF
Virginia M. Buck, M.D.
1945-2010
Insightful and sincere, Dr. Virginia Buck took the time to get to know her patients. Through her keen awareness and experience, she diagnosed and treated patients of all ages with allergy, asthma and immunology disorders for more than 30 years.
A former president of the Oregon Society of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, Dr. Buck completed her pediatric training and fellowship in adult and pediatric asthma, allergy and immunology at the National Asthma Center/National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colo. At the University of Rochester in New York, she earned a medical degree. She received her undergraduate degree at Oberlin College in Ohio.
Board certified in allergy, asthma and immunology, as well as in pediatrics, she and her husband, Dr. Richard Buck, practiced medicine together in Eugene for 31 years.
Virginia and Richard met in medical school. With her maiden name being Boswell and his being Buck, they often sat next to each other in class. This friendship blossomed into a partnership in life and in medicine.
Open-minded and inquisitive, Virginia was an avid reader and a member of two local book clubs. A music lover, she played base recorder in the Eugene Recorder Ensemble. She and her husband raised three children and shared the joy of one grandchild. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family, hiking in the mountains, and gardening both vegetables and flowers.
Virginia will be truly missed.
